I agree that the shift from physical DVDs to streaming in 2007 was a major turning point for Netflix.
I also think the move toward becoming a “choice architect” reduced Netflix’s dependence on external studios, which is especially important now that competitors like Disney+ and HBO Max are pulling their content back to their own level devil platforms.
